This meme hits hard because it captures the pure, visceral reality of being absolutely ignored and left to rot like a dead corpse at the bottom of the ocean while someone else is getting all the fucking attention. It is the ultimate visual shorthand for when your favorite show, hobby, or project is abandoned by the creators, or when your parents clearly love your sibling more than your pathetic ass. It is dark, it is cynical, and it is a perfect way to show everyone just how neglected and forgotten you actually feel.

This meme is used to compare favoritism or neglect. It illustrates how one person or group gets all the attention and resources while another is completely forgotten and left to die or rot in obscurity.
