This clip is the ultimate tool for when you need to pretend you're not absolutely disgusted by someone's bullshit. Homelander's transition from a blank, dead-inside face to that fucked up, twitchy grin is basically the universal sign for 'I'm holding back a mental breakdown.' It’s that exact look when some dumbass says something so stupid it makes you want to choke them until they cum from the sheer pressure. It’s perfect for the internet because we’re all perpetually faking our way through life, pretending we don't want to get railed into oblivion by the first person who gives us a shred of validation.
Homelander from The Boys is standing before a crowd, his expression shifting from a vacant, blank stare into an unsettling, forced, and psychopathic grin as the crowd cheers for him.
This is used to convey a forced reaction to something you find absolutely ridiculous or irritating, or to mock someone by feigning approval while you're actually seething on the inside.
